1 Corinthians 9:14 says “The Lord commanded that those who preach the good news should be supported by those who benefit from it.”
Pastor Moss’ journey at Salem started in the summer of 2014, and not much was known about him except that he wasn’t from here. Some googled him, others waited patiently for his arrival. However, his passion for the Lord was shown immediately when he preached the word of God. His want and need to encourage those individuals in the church to do more was apparent, young, old, and in between, whether it be ushering or heading a committee. His commitment to Salem was displayed every day throughout the community. Whether he attended prayer breakfasts, neighboring churches concerts, community town hall meetings, it was and is in the name of Salem. Despite naysayers, despite personal agendas and any other negatives, he is still here, entering his 5th year, wanting to succeed by putting Salem on the map once again! No one said this journey would be easy, but it definitely will be worth it.
As Pastor Moss begins his 5th year, we pray for a spiritual protection from the attacks of Satan, spiritual encouragement with the love of Jesus and love from this congregation, wisdom to follow the right direction even when it isn’t clear, faithfulness when everyone around him seems to have lost it, and good health to continue to do the Lord’s work.
Oftentimes, we as a church get comfortable and don’t realize the gift God has given us. Pastor, we love you, and we support you on this journey at Salem!
